Biography

Kristofer Maddigan, a versatile composer and drummer based in Toronto, made his Billboard debut with his score for the 2017 video game Cuphead. Prior to this, he was involved in various classical, jazz, theater, and soundtrack projects, including collaborations with the National Ballet of Canada Orchestra, Canadian Opera Company, Toronto Concert Orchestra, and Dévah Quartet. Maddigan, a percussion major graduate from the Glenn Gould School at the Royal Conservatory of Music, honed his craft under the mentorship of members of the Toronto Symphony and jazz drummers like Jim Blackley and Terry Clarke. His diverse musical background led him to contribute compositions to the immersive multimedia project My Virtual Dream in 2013, before gaining widespread recognition for his jazz age-inspired game score for Cuphead, which debuted at number nine on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart in September 2017.
