Born on December 5, 1992, in a suburb of Paris, rapper Mounir Ben Chettouh, known as Hornet La Frappe, began writing lyrics at 13. He signed with TXT Productions in 2012, owned by rapper Busta Flex. La Frappe founded his own label Diez Peufra in 2016 and gained recognition with the platinum-selling single "Gramme 2 Peuf." His debut mixtape Nous-mêmes reached Number 5 on the French Albums Chart in 2017, followed by his studio debut Dans les Yeux in 2018, which peaked at Number 4. La Frappe continued to release successful singles like "Bedo" (2019) and "C'est Mort" (2020). His second album Ma Ruche (2020) and third album Toujours Nous-mêmes (2021) both achieved Top 5 positions in France, with the latter featuring collaborations with Maes, Dwen, and Ninho.
