Formed in Istanbul in 1999, Gripin made their professional debut in January 2001 with members Birol Namoğlu, Murat Başdoğan, Arda İnceoğlu, and Evren Gülçığ. After Gülçığ's departure in 2010, the band continued as a quartet with İlker Baliç. Their debut album "Hikayeler Anlatıldı" was released in 2004, followed by a reissue in 2005 and the self-titled album "Gripin" in 2007. Their album "M.S. 05.03.2010" was released in 2010, followed by "Yalnızlığın Çaresini Bulmuşlar" in 2012. Gripin released their single "Beni Boş Yere Yorma" in 2016 and their album "nasılım biliyor musun?" in 2017. In 2020, they contributed the song "Ebruli" to the Ezginin Günlügü tribute album. Their most recent release is the single "Nilüfer" in 2021.
