Biography

Formed in 1987 during the Pinochet dictatorship in Chile, Gondwana is a band influenced by Bob Marley and roots reggae. The band's sound is a blend of rock and South American traditional rhythms, as showcased on their debut album "Together" in 1996 and their breakthrough sophomore effort "Second Coming" in 2000. Gondwana's music often addresses political issues, such as justice and peace in Chile during the dictatorship, and their single "Antonia" topped national charts in Chile. Following the album's U.S. release on RAS, the band embarked on a world tour.
