Collaborating with Caetano Veloso on her debut album "Domingo" (1967), she later released influential solo albums such as "Gal Costa" (1969), "Gal A Todo Vapor (Live)" (1971), "India" (1973), and "Gal Tropical" (1979). In the 1970s, she was part of the acclaimed group "Doces Bárbaros" alongside Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, and Maria Bethânia.
