Biography

Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) was formed in Birmingham, England in 1970 by Roy Wood, Jeff Lynne, Rick Price, and Bev Bevan. The group's fusion of pop, classical arrangements, and futuristic themes led to commercial success in the 1970s. Despite lineup changes, ELO achieved hits like "10538 Overture" and "Can't Get It Out of My Head."

After various lineup adjustments, Jeff Lynne took over vocal duties, guiding ELO to further success with albums like "Face the Music" and "Out of the Blue." Lynne later pursued production work and collaborations with notable artists, while ELO continued to release music and tour under various iterations. Richard Tandy, a key member of ELO, passed away in 2024.
