David Ball

David Ball, a musician from Spartanburg, SC, initially played guitar before transitioning to the upright bass and joining Uncle Walt’s Band, considered the first Americana act. He has had 14 singles on the Billboard charts, with "Riding With Private Malone" reaching the Country Top 5. Ball's music has been praised for blending swing, honky-tonk, blues, and Tex-Mex influences, with a distinct songwriting style. His 10th studio album, "Come See Me," released in late 2018, showcases melodic country music with a classic, under-produced sound.

In 2018, Omnivore Recordings released the first-ever compilation of Uncle Walt’s Band, titled "Anthology: Those Boys From Carolina, They Sure Enough Could Sing." Ball's platinum-certified album "Thinkin’ Problem" featured the top-selling country song of 1994.
