Dave Lee

Born in London on August 12, 1926, Lee established himself as a talented jazz pianist at a young age, winning accolades in Melody Maker polls. He joined John Dankworth's band and later ventured into various musical fields including jazz, theatre, television, and film scoring. In the early 1980s, Lee was recognized for his contributions to the jazz scene and pioneered Jazz FM, the first jazz-only radio station in the UK, which became a significant platform for jazz musicians and broadcasters until financial challenges led to policy changes, prompting Lee to explore new ventures.
