Darryl Worley, a country singer and songwriter influenced by George Jones and Merle Haggard, rose to fame in the 2000s with hits like "Have You Forgotten." Born in Memphis, Tennessee, he pursued a music career after a sports injury sidelined his basketball dreams. Despite label changes and personal priorities shifting towards family, Worley returned to music in 2019 with a new album, blending his traditional sound with soulful grooves.
Worley's early success with albums like Hard Rain Don't Last and I Miss My Friend led to chart-topping singles and collaborations with country legends like George Jones. Despite label challenges and personal setbacks, Worley's dedication to family led him to step back from the spotlight before making a triumphant return with the release of Second Wind: Latest and Greatest in 2019, showcasing a mix of original material and re-recorded classics.
