Dangerous Toys

Texas rockers Dangerous Toys burst onto the scene in 1989 with their debut album on Columbia, challenging glam metal with their raw Southern rock and metal sound. The hits "Teas'n, Pleas'n" and "Scared" propelled the band to gold status, but they struggled to maintain momentum in the changing rock landscape, releasing their last studio album in 1995. Founded in 1987 in Austin, the band featured vocalist Jason McMaster and guitarist Scott Dalhover, among others, and found success touring with notable acts like The Cult and L.A. Guns.

Despite early success, Dangerous Toys faced challenges navigating the evolving music scene in the early '90s. Their sophomore album, Hellacious Acres, produced by Roy Thomas Baker, garnered positive reviews but couldn't sustain their commercial standing. The band's lineup changes and label drop signaled the end of their recording career, although they continued to perform live sporadically in the years that followed, showcasing their enduring influence in the rock community.
