Damar Jackson, a contemporary R&B artist from Louisiana, gained recognition for co-writing K Camp's hit single "Comfortable" in 2015. He then released his own slow jam-focused material such as "Crazy" and "Changed" in 2016, leading to the debut of his EP Ninety3Until. Jackson continued to collaborate with various artists, including Jae Lyrix and B. Simone, and released the album Unfaithful in 2017. An expanded deluxe version of the album was later released in 2018, followed by his full-length album U2 in the subsequent year.
