Jose Ángel Ontiveros, son of Jose “Pepe” Ontiveros Meza, the lead vocalist and accordionist of Canelos De Durango, embarked on a musical journey in 2014 as the frontman of Canelos Jrs. They gained their name through a social media contest, showcasing their vocal resemblance to the original Canelos de Durango.
The current lineup of Canelos Jrs. consists of Jose Ángel Ontiveros on accordion and lead vocals, Rubén Bueno on second vocals, Iván Vega on bass, Ricardo Valenzuela on drums, and Jesús Ontiveros Jr on bass guitar, with audio and visual support from Javier Urquidez, Gariel López, Sebastian Gonzalez, Ramon Nava, and Jhonny Chávez, united since April 2023 to deliver top-notch performances and music.
