Biography

Candyman, a smooth and confident rapper, achieved commercial success with his hit single "Knockin' Boots" in 1990. Born John B. Shaffer III, he emerged from South Central Los Angeles and gained recognition as part of Ice-T's Rhyme Syndicate. His debut album, Ain't No Shame in My Game, produced by his creative partner Johnny J, was released by Epic in the same year. Despite subsequent releases like Playtime's Over and I Thought U Knew, Candyman's commercial appeal waned, with sporadic appearances in later years including collaborations with Nas and producer J Bigga.
