Biography

Camouflage, a German synth-pop trio formed in 1984 by Marcus Meyn, Heiko Maile, and Oliver Kreyssig, gained popularity with their debut single "The Great Commandment" and album Voices and Images in 1988, showcasing influences from classic new wave synth-pop and Depeche Mode. Despite lineup changes and shifting musical landscapes, Camouflage continued to evolve their sound with albums like Methods of Silence in 1989 and Meanwhile in 1991, before facing challenges in the changing music industry and releasing darker, more synth-oriented works like 1993's Bodega Bohemia and 1995's Spice Crackers. The band's future became uncertain after the release of a best-of compilation in 1997, reflecting their journey through the highs and lows of the music industry.
