C-Murder

Louisiana rapper C-Murder, part of the No Limit family, gained fame in the mid-'90s with TRU, alongside brothers Silkk the Shocker and Master P. Despite facing jailtime, he released albums like Life or Death in 1998 and continued to record music while serving a life sentence, putting out projects such as 2015's Ain't No Heaven in the Pen and 2021's Give Me Freedom or Give Me Death. Born Corey Miller in 1971, C-Murder's music career began in 1993 after serving in the U.S. Military.

C-Murder's early success with TRU led to solo endeavors like Life or Death in 1998 and Bossalinie in 1999. He later founded Tru Records and released the successful album Trapped in Crime in 2000. Despite legal troubles and imprisonment, C-Murder continued to release music, with projects like The Truest $#!@ I Ever Said in 2005 and mixtapes such as 2016's collaboration with Boosie Badazz. His politically charged 2021 album, Give Me Freedom or Give Me Death, showcases his enduring dedication to music despite his circumstances.
