C-BO's career began with the controversial debut album Gas Chamber in 1993, setting the tone for his provocative lyrics that would eventually lead to legal troubles. Despite his divisive content, he steadily gained popularity with yearly album releases, cultivating a devoted following akin to other hardcore rap artists of the time. As his artistry evolved, C-BO shifted away from exploitative themes, maintaining his reputation as one of the West Coast's most extreme rappers. Achieving success with albums like 'Til My Casket Drops and Enemy of the State, he continued to make waves on the charts and in the underground scene.

Following his jail time in 1998, C-BO's subsequent albums like Life as a Rider and The Mobfather earned him recognition on the Billboard R&B/hip-hop charts, leading to collaborative projects like Trading War Stories and Thug Money with other artists. Returning to solo work in 2012 with Cali Connection and Orca featuring notable guest appearances, he remained active in the music scene with releases like The Mobfather sequel in 2015 and The Problem in 2017, showcasing his enduring presence in the hardcore rap genre.
