Tunisian rapper Balti, born Mohamed Salah Balti in 1980, began his solo career in 2003 after starting out in the group Wled Bled. He gained international recognition through collaborations and performances with artists like Method Man and Redman. Balti's music evolved post-Tunisia's Jasmine Revolution, releasing singles like "Stop Violence" in 2012 and "Erakh lé" in 2016 with Mister You. In 2022, his collaboration with Elyanna, "Ghareeb Alay," made waves on the Indonesian chart, reaching Number 200.

Since his solo debut in 2003, Balti has continued to release music both individually and with his group X Tension, dropping hits like "Ici ou là-bas" in 2011 and "Kill Somebody" in 2014. He has also ventured into filmmaking, directing music videos like "Kill Somebody" with Malek Ben Gaied Hassine.
