Balkan Bump, led by trumpet player and producer Will Magid, is a global electronic music project that blends electronic production with Balkan brass melodies, Middle Eastern sounds, and American hip hop. As a solo artist, Will Magid has collaborated with renowned acts such as Bonobo, Erykah Badu, and Pretty Lights, and has led various jazz and global music groups. Magid, a graduate of The UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music with a degree in Ethnomusicology, has a diverse musical background that includes projects like Alligator Spacewalk and Lunar Conquest Suite / Resistance Rising. His work has been featured in publications like Billboard, NPR, and The San Francisco Chronicle.
