Babyfather is the experimental hip-hop project of the mysterious British artist Dean Blunt, formerly one half of the duo Hype Williams. The project, presented as a trio including DJ Escrow and Gassman D, features fractured collages of dub rhythms, aggressive rapping, and bursts of harsh noise. Blunt released a free EP titled Babyfather in 2015, followed by a mixtape called UK2UK credited to Babyfather. Hyperdub released the single "Meditation" in early 2016, co-produced by Arca, followed by the mixtape Platinum Tears and the full-length debut BBF Hosted by DJ Escrow in April.
