B.G., an early rapper on Cash Money Records, achieved his greatest success with the label, notably with the hit "Bling Bling" in 1999. After releasing several albums with Cash Money, he left the label due to a money dispute, forming his own label, Chopper City Records, in 2002. B.G. continued to release albums independently, including Livin' Legend in 2003, which addressed his issues with Cash Money rappers Birdman and Lil Wayne.
Following his departure from Cash Money, B.G. released a series of albums under Chopper City Records, including The Heart of tha Streetz, Vol. 1 (2005) and We Got This (2007) with the Chopper City Boyz. His music continued to evolve, with a shift to a duo format for the group's later releases. Despite his split from Cash Money, B.G. maintained his influence in the rap industry through his independent endeavors and collaborations with his affiliate group.
