Founded in 1982, the Akademie f├╝r Alte Musik Berlin (Akamus) marks its 40th anniversary in 2022 as a leading chamber orchestra specializing in period instruments. Renowned internationally, Akamus performs at prestigious venues across the globe, including regular appearances in New York, Tokyo, London, and Buenos Aires. As a key figure in Berlin's cultural landscape, Akamus hosts its own concert series at the Konzerthaus Berlin and collaborates with the Staatsoper Berlin on Baroque repertoire, while also holding a concert series at MunichΓÇÖs Prinzregententheater.
With a tradition of working closely with esteemed conductors and soloists, including concert masters Bernhard Forck and Georg Kallweit, Akamus has forged enduring partnerships with artists like René Jacobs and the RIAS Kammerchor, resulting in award-winning recordings.
