Andy Turner, also known as Aim, is a British trip-hop producer with strong roots in rap music, starting his career as a rap DJ in 1989 before transitioning to production. Turner signed with Grand Central label in the mid-90s after meeting label head Mark Rae, releasing his debut EP Pacific Northwest in 1995. He went on to release his album Cold Water Music in 1999 and has also done remixes for artists such as Ian Brown, St. Etienne, and the Charlatans UK.
With a background as the son of a jazz musician, Aim's music reflects his rap influences and cinematic style, showcasing his talent for creating atmospheric and textured soundscapes. Turner's work has been featured on various Grand Central compilations and EPs like Soul Dive, demonstrating his versatility as a producer with a unique blend of trip-hop and rap elements.
