Biography

Formed in 1992, punk rock band Against All Authority embodied the DIY ethos by recording their own singles and albums and booking tours independently. Comprised of Danny Lore, Joe Koontz, Fin Leavell, and Chris 'Spikey' Goldbach, the band gained a following for their aggressive, politically charged punk/ska sound. Despite growing popularity, they stayed true to their values, signing to Hopeless Records in the late '90s and releasing albums like All Fall Down in 1998. They continued spreading their anti-authoritarian message through releases like 24 Hour Roadside Resistance in 2000 and Restoration of Chaos & Order in 2006, resurfacing in 2021 after various split releases and collaborations.

Against All Authority's commitment to independence and DIY principles set them apart in the punk rock scene, as they silk-screened their own merchandise and remained with indie labels to maintain creative control. Their discography includes notable releases like Destroy What Destroys You and the Exchange split EP with The Criminals in 1999. The band's dedication to their beliefs remained evident in their music, culminating in the rarities compilation Nothing New for Trash Like You in 2001. Collaborations with Common Rider and a consistent output of politically charged music solidified Against All Authority's reputation as a pioneering force in the punk rock world.
