Richard D. James, known as Aphex Twin, also releases music under the alias AFX. AFX's sound is less frenetic and more beat-oriented compared to Aphex Twin, yet still distinctly reflective of James' style. Initially associated with the Aphex Twin moniker, the Analogue Bubblebath series eventually became linked with AFX as James gained acclaim with both projects, including successful remixes and EP releases under AFX.

Throughout his career, James has navigated between his Aphex Twin and AFX personas, showcasing his versatility and innovative approach to electronic music. His AFX releases, such as the Hangable Auto Bulb EPs and the Analord series, have garnered critical acclaim and commercial success, with Orphaned Deejay Selek 2006-2008 even reaching the top of Billboard's Top Electronic Albums chart in 2015.
