Aes Dana

French electronic music producer Aes Dana, also known as Vincent Villuis, blends downtempo, IDM, ambient techno, and progressive trance in his music, released through his label Ultimae. Villuis, who previously performed in coldwave and industrial bands, co-founded Ultimae in the late '90s to support artists in the "psybient" scene, later expanding to offer sound design and mastering services. Under the moniker Aes Dana, he has released a series of albums characterized by lush ambient textures and immersive sound design, evolving from trance to techno influences over the years. His most recent solo album, "Inks," was released in 2019 after a seven-year gap.

In 2001, Villuis departed from Asura to focus on his solo project, drawing inspiration from ancient Ireland's artisanal caste for his stage name. His debut album as Aes Dana, "Season 5," laid the foundation for his subsequent releases, showcasing a blend of soothing ambient elements, psychedelic sounds, and crisp beats. Throughout his discography, he has incorporated neoclassical influences and collaborated with artists like Miktek. With albums like "Pollen" and "Far & Off," Aes Dana's music continues to be praised for its intricate soundscapes and high-quality production, solidifying his reputation as a prominent figure in the electronic music scene.
