The band, rooted in classic jazz big band instrumentation, boasts top talent from the northern England jazz scene, with members who have performed alongside artists such as Jamiroquai, Corinne Bailey Rae, and Amy Winehouse.
Building on the success of their debut album, "Dilla," Abstract Orchestra's latest release, "Madvillain Vol. 1," continues their innovative approach by reinterpreting the collaboration of MF Doom and Madlib, known as MADVILLAIN, and their acclaimed albums. By sampling jazz legends like Sun Ra and Bill Evans, the album maintains a jazz-oriented ethos, allowing Abstract Orchestra to skillfully deconstruct and reimagine the music. Just like their debut, all tracks on "Madvillain Vol. 1" were recorded live in the studio, showcasing the band's dynamic and authentic sound.
