Biography

French rapper Abd Al Malik is known for his unique blend of blues, jazz, and slam poetry influences in hip-hop, alongside his philosophical lyrics that reflect his Muslim faith. Born in Paris in 1975 and spending his early years in Congo, Malik gained recognition in the late '90s leading the rap collective New African Poets. Transitioning to a solo career, he released his debut album Le Face à Face des Coeurs in 2004, followed by Gibraltar in 2006, which won him the Le Prix Constantin award. Subsequent albums include Dante in 2008 and Chateau Rouge in 2011.
