Biography

A Beacon School, led by New York-based musician Patrick J. Smith, showcases dream pop on releases like the full-length debut "Cola," blending uptempo pop, shoegaze, and electronic elements. Smith began the project in 2009, releasing a demo single in 2011 and a self-titled EP with a full band lineup in 2012, while also collaborating with bands like Modern Rivals and Bluffing, and currently working with Max Savage of Parquet Courts in Maxband.

After the success of "Cola" in 2018, including over 50 million streams and tours with notable acts, A Beacon School returns with the follow-up album "yoyo" in 2023. This new release continues to push boundaries with 10 tracks exploring the unconscious artistic self and the passage of time, marking a significant progression in Smith's musical journey.
