EJAY, a Southside Chicago native, faced harsh realities of poverty and helplessness in his youth, leading him to keep to himself and struggle with self-expression. Transitioning from a cramped basement to a better life, he found solace and purpose in football, learning dedication and passion. Despite earning college scholarships, financial strains forced him to drop out in 2017, pushing him towards the streets and ultimately to pursuing a career in music.

Turning to drug sales due to financial struggles, EJAY found himself surrounded by rappers and discovered his own talent for music. This newfound passion led him to the recording studio, marking the beginning of his music career and leaving his troubled past behind.
