Cesar Comanche, hailing from Jacksonville, NC, discovered his passion for hip-hop in 1979 through his sister. While studying at NC State in 1996, he connected with fellow student Pat Douthit, who later became the renowned producer 9th Wonder. Together, they established the Justus League Crew in 1999, a collective of rappers and producers from NC State and North Carolina Central University. Comanche left school before graduating to focus on his music career, releasing albums like "Wooden Nickels" and "Paper Gods" on his label Defenders of the Free World. In 2005, he dropped "Squirrel and the Aces" on ABB Records, joining the ranks of underground rap icons like Dilated Peoples and Defari.
