Benfield's journey into crafting his captivating alternative pop-rock songs began in his youth, with his debut album materializing after he returned to the mountains near Brisbane following extensive travels and university. During a year of solitude in a rainforest, he crossed paths with Australian explorer Sydney Kirkby, leading to a transformative experience living with Kirkby and his wife, Jude, amidst tales of extraordinary adventures. Benfield's music mirrors Kirkby's expeditions, delving into intricate melodies and raw human emotions, showcased in his collaborative EP with Luke Bertoz and Graham Ritchie.
