Formed in 2019 in Orange County, California, Abusement Park was founded by Joey Engel (vocals), Marcus Lewis and Hector Perez (guitar), and Shane Hullings (bass) with a mission to blend progressive death metal and thrash. Gabe Seeber of Decrepit Birth and the Kennedy Veil joined the lineup on studio drums in April 2020, and the band's debut EP was recorded and mixed by Lewis and mastered by Jacob Kalka. In early June 2022, Abusement Park released a new single from their upcoming full-length album, with the current lineup featuring Engel on vocals, Lewis and Minsu Kim on guitar, Hullings on bass, and Scott Mendoza on drums.
