Led by saxophonist and composer Julien Pontvianne, Abhra is a project that includes vocalist Lauren Kinsella, cellist Hannah Marshall, guitarist Francesco Diodati, pianist Alexandre Herer, and bassist Matteo Bortone. Pontvianne’s music, inspired by the writings of Henry David Thoreau, was originally commissioned by the Centre International des Musiques Nomades and the Festival Détours de Babel in 2014.
