Abakis, also known as Aba Kiser, is a versatile musician known for her orchestral folk pop sound infused with influences from classic country and swing. With vintage vocals and intricate guitar work, Abakis has captivated audiences across the United States before settling in Brooklyn to release her debut album "I'm One Too" in November 2014, showcasing her raw folk songs expanded into lush arrangements with an orchestra thanks to composer and producer Kate Copeland. Selected as a fellow of the Dosti Music Project in 2016, Abakis continues to blend soulful folk and country swing with elements of jazz in her current band, Abakis & Company, bringing a fresh and dynamic sound to the music scene.

Having made her home in the northwest with her husband Micah and their chicken flock, Abakis now resides in Port Townsend, WA, where she continues to create and perform music that reflects her diverse musical influences and unique style.
