Aarno Raninen (27 April 1944 – 3 September 2014) was a versatile Finnish musician known for his skills on the piano, violin, cello, and accordion. Starting his career in Kotka, Raninen later moved to Helsinki in 1966 where he worked as a studio conductor at Musiikki-Fazer and collaborated with notable songwriters such as Juha Vainio. He also wrote lyrics for various Finnish artists and composed music for TV series and films, including works with Pertti "Pertsa" Reponen. Throughout his career, Raninen received accolades such as winning Syksyn sävel in 1968 and placing 10th at Eurovision in 1977. He passed away in Tuusula in 2014.
