Formed in late 2019, 9 Seconds to Rome is a duo comprised of Belgian singer-songwriter Nele Dewaele and Italian composer Walter Marantino. The pair quickly developed their sound, releasing their debut EP "I Like to Watch the Rain with You" in 2022, which garnered attention from underground music magazines and led to live performances across the country. They followed up with the summer-inspired EP "Imaginary Lapse of Season" later that year, showcasing a bossa nova influence.

In 2022, 9 Seconds to Rome continued to build their discography with the single "Open Road," and in 2023, they released "You Should Have Known." Their music blends Dewaele's emotive vocals with Marantino's lush compositions, creating a unique sound that has captivated audiences and critics alike.
