Formed in 2015 in Naples, 1989 is an electronic, rock, and pop music project that draws inspiration from the city's artistic, chaotic, and human surroundings. The trio behind the project, Antonio Ardito, Guido Molea, and Andrea De Prisco, sought to create an alternative musical language within the local artistic scene.

After a period of musical exploration and development, 1989 began performing in Naples' venues to refine their unique musical style. Recording their first EP, "Alberi Nudi," at Soundinside Basement Records, the group went on to win the Archeocontest in 2016 and the Nerano Music Festival in 2018. Embracing the Italian language as a means of artistic expression, 1989 continues to push boundaries and represent Naples in the European music scene.
