Formed in Buenos Aires province in 1932, the project initially started as a solo endeavor by Fran Carzino in 2014, recording pop-focused compositions with producer Quique Sanchez. Carzino's brother Germán joined the project during recording, eventually becoming a permanent member after co-writing "Instante." The duo released their debut album "Metonimia" in 2015, with Nicolás Luna contributing on guitars, keyboards, and vocals. Despite lineup changes, including Germán's departure in 2017, 1932 continued to evolve their sound towards rock. They released their second album "Imperfecto" in 2019 as a duo comprising Carzino and Luna, before officially ceasing performances in 2020, occasionally reuniting with Germán for live renditions.
